(Washington, DC) — Tear gas is being deployed inside the U.S. Capitol building rotunda after protesters breached the building. The building is on lockdown and members of the House and Senate are being evacuated. The chaos began today after thousands of President Trump supporters swarmed the Capitol after Trump spoke at a “Save America” rally. The House and Senate were in the process of certifying the results of the 2020 election when the chaos started.

(Washington, DC) — Chaos reigns in DC and the U.S. Capitol is on lockdown. Members of Congress were told to get under there chairs in necessary as protesters were trying to enter the House chamber. Supporters of President Trump stormed Congress, jumping over barricades and pushing their way past police. Both chambers went into recess while trying to debate a challenge to Arizona’s electoral votes. Congress is meeting today to certify the results of the Presidential election that show Joe Biden won. Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is issuing a curfew beginning at 6:00 tonight through 6:00 tomorrow morning.

(Washington, DC) — The Biden Transition team says Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is “safe” after she was seen on Capitol grounds earlier today. This comes as demonstrators have breached the Capitol to protest the results of the Electoral College. The transition team would not comment further on the California Senator’s current location.

(Kenosha, WI) — Both the lawyer for victim Jacob Blake and Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers are unhappy with the decision to not charge the police officer who shot and paralyzed Blake last August. Attorney B’Ivory LaMarr says the decision proves law enforcement are held to different standards of justice than the general population. LaMarr claims there are three American justice systems, one for black and brown people, one for police, and one for everyone else. Evers said elected officials could have “risen to this moment” and helped to “promote transparency in policing,” but instead did nothing.

(Miami, FL) — Carnival Cruise Lines is pushing back their voyage resumption date to at least April. The extension of the cruise suspension means the company has postponed travel for more than a year since the coronavirus pandemic virtually shut down the entire cruise travel sector. Some other select domestic and international voyages are being put off through as late as November. A Carnival official says the company is preparing a “phased-in approach” to getting back to the seas later this year.

(Redwood City, CA) — Rocker Neil Young is selling a 50-percent share in his music to British investment firm Hipgnosis Songs Fund. The company says it recently agreed to the terms to acquire half of the copyright and income interests on about one-thousand-180 songs that Young composed. His catalog includes hits such as “Rockin’ in the Free World,” “Ohio,” and “Like a Hurricane.” The exact price of the agreement hasn’t been disclosed.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Tiger King’s Joe Exotic is trying to get out of prison again. T-M-Z says Exotic’s legal team will be in the nation’s capital asking for clemency in order to attend his father’s funeral. His dad recently died from COVID-19 complications and the funeral is set for Saturday in Oklahoma. Exotic’s legal team has chartered a jet for their flight Washington. His attorney said if President Trump won’t grant the pardon, they will ask for temporary release so Joe can attend his father’s funeral.
