Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman is serving at this time as President of the Illinois Municipal League, after being a member of their board for better than a decade.
At their annual business meeting in Chicago on September 26th, Mayor Gottman was unanimously elected to serve a one-year term as the President of the statewide association. Mayor Gottman has served on the IML Board of Directors since 2007 and served as the First Vice President for one year prior to elevating to the presidency. Also during the meeting Decatur Mayor Julie Moor Wolfe was elected the First Vice President and River Forest Village President Catherine Adduci was elected Second Vice President.
Mayor Gottman has served as the Mayor of Vandalia since 2001 and is the longest serving Mayor in the City’s history. Gottman recently announced he plans to run for a sixth term in office in the Spring of 2021.
