The final pre-trial of a Missouri man charged in Fayette County Court with possession of child pornography and grooming is set for Tuesday. 45-year old Shelby D. Weston and defense attorney will appear via Zoom video conference on Tuesday afternoon along with Fayette County States Attorney Josh Morrison and Assistant Attorney General Shannon O’Brien for the final pre-trial hearing ahead of what is a scheduled bench trial on September 10. All parties involved confirmed that they are ready for trial during an August 13 Zoom video conference.
Weston was charged in November 2017 with six counts of possession of child pornography with four counts being Class 2 felonies, punishable by three to seven years in prison, and two counts being Class 3 felonies, punishable by two to five years in prison. Weston also faces the original two counts he was charged with in March 2017 of traveling to meet a minor, a Class 3 felony punishable by two to five years in prison and one count of grooming which is a Class 4 felony punishable by one to three years in prison. Weston has remained in custody of the Fayette County Jail since his arrest on $250,000 bond.
