James E. “Jim” Lackey, Jr., 94, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, in Vandalia, IL.
Graveside Services with Military Rites will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL with Pastor Krista Stokke, officiating. He was born December 19, 1922, in Villa Ridge, IL, the son of James Earl & Helen (Gould) Lackey Sr. Married Doris Louise Harrison on December 5, 1947, Newton, IL, she passed away May 5, 2013. He was a retired auto parts salesman at E. Blankenship & Co. for 44 years; US Army World War II Veteran, served in South Pacific Theatre; Member of St. James Lutheran Church, Temperance Lodge # 16, A.F. & A.M. Vandalia, IL, Ainad Temple Shrine, E. St. Louis, IL, Old National Trail Shrine Club, VFW Post 3862, Vandalia Country and Golf Club, Life member of Vandalia Moose Lodge, Crawford Hale Post #95 American Legion, 40 & 8 Voiture 1222 & DAV.
He is survived by: Sons – Joe Lackey & Deborah, Washougal, WA and Jack Lackey, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren – Janet, Jason, Brett & Brian and 2 Great Grandchildren.
