Eugene “Gene” Rogers, 82, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Tim Logue officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, rural Fillmore, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 21, 2015, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. He was born March 09, 1933, in Pulaski, TN, the son of Marion Oscar & Edna Lou (Stanford) Rogers. Married Betty Lou Snow June 24, 1955, in Rural Vandalia, IL. Gene was a retired Molder for Brockway, Vandalia, IL and retired School Bus Driver for both Vandalia and Ramsey School Districts. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, a member of Crawford-Hale Post #95 American Legion, Vandalia, IL and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL.
He is survived by: Wife – Betty Lou Rogers, Vandalia, IL; Sons – Ronnie Rogers & Debbie, Granite City, IL and Jack Rogers & Donna, Vandalia, IL;
Brother – Jimmy Rogers & Barbara, Mt. Vernon, IL; Sister – Belle Harrolle & Jim, Ramsey, IL; 4 Grandchildren – Josh, Ronnie Keith, Julie & Alisa; 2 Step Grandchildren – Daniel & Katie; 4 Great Grandchildren – Mariah, Maci, Lydia & Lani and 2 Step- Great Grandchildren – Evan & Owen.
