Meanwhile, the area has an Elevated Fire Danger for today. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says dry, windy conditions today will promote dangerous fire behavior in northeast/central Missouri and west-central Illinois, where a Red Flag Warning will exist. Elsewhere, erratic fire behavior is likely. This erratic fire behavior will last into Tuesday. Burning is strongly discouraged outside of professionals.
