The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect until 8 PM CST this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Illinois, Fire Weather Zones 058, 059, 060, 064, 065, 069, 070, 074, 095, 096 and 097. * TIMING...From 10 AM this morning until 8PM this evening. * WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 to 25 percent. * IMPACTS...These conditions are conducive for the rapid spread and growth of uncontrolled wildfires. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

In our most recent poll, the vast majority of individuals voted they were either very concerned or somewhat concerned that Fayette County does not currently have a contract with an ambulance service—-It has been discussed that some kind of support may be needed to help an ambulance service survive in Fayette County. Would you be open to approving some type of funding (perhaps a sales tax increase) to help pay for ambulance services in Fayette County?
