Fayette County Board members and others are looking to get more information to the public on the issues with the Fayette County Courthouse and Jail as voters will decide on a 1% sales tax increase in the April 1st Election.
County Board members Merrell Collins and Mack Payne addressed the issues with the current courthouse and jail. Collins gives a timeline and also talks about the issues with the currently building.
And, Collins says they are really wanting to take their case to the public at this time.
Fayette County voters are being asked in the April 1st Consolidated Election on whether or not to approve a 1% sales tax for 35 years to pay for the new courthouse and jail. The projected cost of the project for the 54,700 square foot facility would be 44.3 million dollars. We will hear more from Collins and Payne coming up tomorrow.
