(Springfield, IL) — A bill that would require people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be paid the full minimum wage in Illinois is one step closer to reality. The Illinois state Senate passed the The Dignity in Pay Act yesterday, sending it to Governor Pritzker’s desk. The measure would end Illinois’ certificate program, which allows some employers to pay people with disabilities less than the minimum wage.
