Former ComEd board member Juan Ochoa has completed his testimony at the bribery and racketeering trial of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan and codefendant Michael McClain.
In May of 2018, McClain told then-ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore that Madigan wanted Ochoa to be appointed to the ComEd board.
McClain said Madigan had advised him about Ochoa’s financial history.
Madigan and McClain are accused of using Madigan’s public office to secure jobs for their associates by advancing legislation favorable to ComEd.
Madigan served in the Illinois House for 50 years and chaired the Democratic Party of Illinois for 23 years.
