Prosecutors have introduced a series of new witnesses, documents and recordings at the corruption trial of the former speaker of the Illinois House.
Government attorneys displayed documents related to Michael Madigan and codefendant Michael McClain’s dealings with ComEd and payments to Madigan’s allies for jobs which prosecutors said required little or no work.
Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Collins said the government still faces the burden of proof.
Prosecutors called eight new witnesses and introduced about 20 new recordings on Thursday.
Government attorneys indicated that former Chicago alderman Danny Solis is expected to testify next week.
