Illinois To Expand Medicaid Coverage

(Chicago, IL) — Illinois is expanding Medicaid coverage. The expansion was made possible after the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved the state’s application to amend and extend an existing waiver to include services newly-eligible for federal Medicaid match. As a result, Illinois will soon provide assistance designed to address root causes of health disparities. That includes housing and food insecurity, and helping individuals transition from incarceration.
