(Champaign Co., IL) — A case of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is being confirmed in Champaign County. The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District says an individual has tested positive. RMSF is a tick-borne illness transmitted in Illinois primarily by the American dog tick. The disease can be deadly if not promptly and properly treated.
