We will be mostly sunny and mild for today.
We are looking at mostly sunny skies and a high of 57. Then, mostly cloudy skies for tonight with a low of 43.
Meanwhile, rain is on the way starting Thursday night. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says for the first time since late January, widespread substantial rainfall is expected between late Thursday and Saturday. Rainfall won’t be continuous over this time frame, but expect waves of rain along with a few thunderstorms. The entire area is expected to get at least 1″ of rain. This rainfall would be very beneficial to the area given the ongoing drought/dryness. Look for streamflows and pond levels to increase along with some soil moisture recovery due to this rainfall. Most recent maps show our area getting 1.5 to 2 inches of rain out of the system that will continue into Saturday.
