The Altamont Lady Indians have now won eight games in a row after running away from Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville for a 66-31 win in their opening game of pool play at the Robinson Holidaze Hoopla Tournament. The Lady Indians put their defense on show in the first quarter, holding OPH to just one basket in the first quarter and grabbing a 15-2 first quarter lead. The Altamont defense remained on full show in the second quarter as a 23-3 run would have the Lady Indians out in front 38-5 at halftime. OPH would find their offense in the third quarter, putting up 16 points, but Altamont’s 23 points in the quarter would push their lead out to 61-21 before they cruised through the fourth quarter and closed out the 66-31 win. Altamont is now 10-2 on the season and will play their double day today, facing a pair of Indiana teams when they take on Terre Haute South at 10:30am and then North Central at 4:30pm to close out pull play ahead of Thursday’s place games.
