Three Altamont Indian baseball seniors have now signed letters of intent to play baseball at the collegiate level, with Tuesday’s signing having a special circumstance as teammates Aden McManaway and Dillan Elam both signed to play for Kaskaskia College. With having the rare chance to continue playing baseball with his teammate, Elam says it makes the signing even more special to him.
And McManaway says signing with someone who he grew up playing the game with means a lot to him.
As for choosing to play for KC, Elam says it was really the coaching staff that drew him to the school.
For McManaway, he says the campus, coaches and team all feel like the right fit.
Elam and McManaway will join fellow Altamont Indian Mason Robinson and current KC freshman on the Blue Devils baseball team which features several other area players on the roster. Before moving on to KC, Elam and McManaway will help anchor a strong Indians lineup heading into the Spring 2024 season as they look to try and capture their first Regional Championship in 5 years.
