(Shipman, IL) — Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office is charging a Village of Shipman trustee with theft and misconduct over allegations of misusing village funds. Raoul says Elizabeth Robinson used her position as Shipman village treasurer to pay herself payroll she wasn’t entitled to by forging signatures on unauthorized village checks. She also used village funds to pay personal bills through electronic payments. Robinson is accused of misusing up to 65-thousand-dollars in village funds.
