The Vandalia Vandals 10u baseball team took second place at the Mid-Summer Classic baseball tournament in Chatham, IL over the weekend. In pool play, the Vandals Lost to the Hitting Center Arsenal 7-6, and dropped its second pool play game to the eventual champion, Carterville Cannons, 18– 8.
In single elimination bracket play, the vandals got a win over the host Chatham Braves 18–4. In the second round, Vandalia took down the #1 seed, Hitting Center Arsenal 15-6. In the championship game, the Vandals fell to the Carterville Cannons, 14-4 to close out the tournament and their spring 2023 season.
The Vandals had a successful season finishing at 3rd place or better in all 6 of their tournaments, including 3 championship game appearances.
