After coming out of their four month break for the high school softball season, the South Storm 16U softball team got their Summer 2023 season kicked off this weekend, going 302 at the 10th Annual Battle for the Bling in O’Fallon. Storm picked up 15-3 2in over St. Louis Naturals Endermuhle in their opening pool play game on Friday evening and followed that up with a 5-4 win later that evening over Texas Glory STL Metro to start pool play at 2-0. They would then suffer a 6-4 loss to the St. Louis Pirates on Saturday morning. That would put the Storm as the #2 seed from the pool going into bracket play on Sunday with a first round BYE. In the second round, they would get a 7-2 win over Game 7 16U Little to advance to the quarterfinals where they would fall to Louisville Lady Sluggers 14U Clark, 7-2, to wrap up their tournament play.
