After falling to Greenville 4-1 back on March 23, Vandalia baseball flipped the script on Friday, beating Greenville 4-1 in their South Central Conference matchup for the season. After two scoreless innings, it would be Vandalia getting on the scoreboard first with a run in the top of the third on an RBI single by Andrew Kelly to take a 1-0 lead. Greenville would tie it up 1-1 in the bottom of the third with a run. Vandalia quickly retaliated with three runs in the top of the fourth. Owen Miller hit a two-out single to center field to score Cayden Hipsher and Chase McNary and put Vandalia back on top 3-1. Matthew Hagy would follow that up with a RBI single to left field to score Miller and push the Vandal lead to 4-1. That would be all the scoring the Vandals would need as the final three and a half innings would go by scoreless for both teams and Vandalia would grab the 4-1 win. The Vandals move to 10-11 on the season and are 4-2 in the SCC.
