After a 15-game win streak to start the season, South Central baseball suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday, falling to North Clay 6-5. The game was a rematch from the opening game of the South Central Wooden Bat Tourney just four days ago when North Clay was no-hit by the Cougar’s Aidan Dodson. The Cougars would put up one run in each of the first three innings for a 3-0 lead and would add another in the top of the fifth to lead 4-0. North Clay would score their first run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning to make it 4-1 and South Central would push their lead back to four runs after scoring one in the top of the seventh, 5-1. North Clay would take advantage of two Cougar errors in the bottom of the seventh and a pair of walks to bring across four runs and tie the game at 5-5 to send it to extra innings. South Central would lead off the top of the eight with a single but would go down on three straight outs to send it to the bottom of the eighth. North Clay would get a leadoff double and a walk to put runners at first and second before a single to left field would score two runs and hand North Clay the walk0off win, 6-5. South Central is now 15-1 on the season with the loss and will look to bounce back on Friday when they host Flora.
