Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City baseball went 1-1 at Saturday’s Red Hill Round Robin in Bridgeport. In the first game, CHBC beat Brownstown-St. Elmo 15-8. After the game stood at a 2-2 tie at the end of the first, the Bobcats tallied four runs over the next two innings for a 6-2 lead. Carrying that lead into the 6th inning, CHBC put up four runs in the top of the fifth and top of the sixth to extend their lead to 14-2. BSE would put up 5 runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the CHBC lead to 14-7, before both teams would tack on one run each in the seventh as CHBC would hold on for a 15-8 win. After the first game win, the CHBC offense cooled off as the Bobcats tallied just five hits in the second game as they fell to host Red Hill 10-0 to finish the day at 1-1. CHBC is now 5-4 on the season.
