After meeting just a week earlier at the National Trail Conference Tournament, South Central and St. Elmo-Brownstown met up for their regular season NTC contest with the Cougars getting the best of the Eagles, 42-31, on Friday night. South Central would use a 15-8 first quarter run to take the lead, but the scoring would slow to a crawl in the second quarter. The Cougars and the Eagles would put up just four points each in the second quarter with the South Central holding a 19-12 lead at halftime. Offense would pick up again on both ends to start the second half with the Cougars outscoring the Eagles 11-9 to push their lead out to 30-21 and it would again be South Central with the advantage in the fourth quarter, 12-10, to close out the 42-31 win over SEB. South Central improves to 18-8 on the season and 3-3 in the NTC. The Cougars will be right back in action on Saturday when they host Webber with JV getting underway at 5:00pm. SEB drops to 16-8 on the season and 2-4 in the NTC. The Eagles will get back into action on Tuesday at Cumberland.
