Reports of Levee breaks on Kaskaskia River, but Route 51 and 40 both still open-pic included

We have received reports of various levee breaks along the Kaskaskia River today, some south of Vandalia and one that was reported being right at the Rts 40/51 intersection.  On their Facebook page, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports that both Route 40 and 51 are still open, although these levee breaks could effect Route 51 at a later time.
