After not winning the championship of their own tournament since 2012 and ending the drought last September, the Lady Vandals volleyball team has made it back-to-back championships, going 4-0 on the day.
Vandalia opened Pool A play Saturday morning with a 25-21, 25-16 win over East Alton-Wood River and followed that up with a two-set win over Salem 26-24, 25-17. The Vandals then beat New Athens 25-7, 25-21 to earn their spot in the Championship Game against South Central who finished 3-0 in Pool B play. In the title game, Vandalia battled to a 25-18, 25-23 win over the Cougars to again claim the championship title. After tournament play, the Lady Vandals are now 11-7-1 on the season, having won 8 matches in a row. They will have just one day off before getting back into action on Monday when they host Ramsey.
