There is an elevated fire danger for today.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis says that with sustained south winds and low humidity levels today that produces an elevated fire danger for today. They add that these conditions make fires difficult to contain and recommend holding off on any outdoor burning. The NWS says these conditions will be at their peak between 12 pm and 6 pm today.
