Kim Winona (Meyer) DeMain, 64, of Brownstown, IL, passed away at 2:22 AM, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 24, 2022 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Dave Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Pinhook Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM, Monday, January 24, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity. Kim Winona Meyer was born on November 28, 1957 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Albert William “Bing” Meyer and Winona H. (Oliver) Meyer Childress. She married Ren Arthur DeMain on February 11, 1978. Together, they celebrated nearly 20 years of marriage and had two children before his passing on September 15, 1997.
Kim had various types of employment throughout the years. She was a hard-working and loving mother that cherished nothing more than to provide for children and grandchildren. They were her entire world. Not only did she value her family, but she took in anyone and everyone as her own; through her compassion, she touched the hearts of many and will forever be missed. Kim loved cooking and gardening and was a member of Haley Chapel United Methodist Church, Bluff City.
She is survived by her son, Matt DeMain and wife, Amber of Aztec, NM; daughter, Renee DeMain of St. Louis, MO; sister, Sharon Kay and husband Dave Druen of Madisonville, KY; grandchildren, Caitlyn and husband Blake Chaney, Naomi DeMain, Tayton DeMain, Ryland Chase, and Wally Mason; and great-granddaughter, Myah Chaney.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ronnie and Randy; and sister, Beth.
