The Vandals finished up the 49th annual Vandalia Holiday Tournament falling to Nokomis, 53 to 51, in the 5th place game on Thursday evening.
For the tournament, the Vandals go 1-4 with their one victory coming over Okaw Valley. The Vandals are now 5-7 overall on the season. Meanwhile, the Vandals have a tough week ahead. The first week of 2022 has the Vandals hosting Carterville on Tuesday, hosting the Greenville Comets on Friday and at Pinckneyville on Saturday, January 8th.
For the Vandalia Holiday Tournament, Chase Laack made the All Tournament Team for the Vandals, as he averaged 15 points per game for the tournament. Connor Ray had a strong tournament, averaging 13.4 points per game and Carson Ruot was also in double figures for the tournament at 11.8 points per game.
