We are looking at showers and storms for today and severe storms are possible for this afternoon.
Our forecast for today calls for showers and thunderstorms with a high of 74. Winds out of the southwest will gust better than 20 miles per hour during the day today. Then, we’ll see mostly cloudy skies for tonight with a low of 53.
Meanwhile, we do have a possibility of severe storms this afternoon. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says Additional storms are likely this afternoon, mainly across southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. A few of these storms may be strong to severe, with hail up to the size of quarters, wind gusts to near 60 mph, and locally heavy rainfall all possible.
