(Shelby Co., IL) — A Shelby County man is accused of threatening to shoot students and teachers. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office was contacted Saturday by the FBI about receiving a tip about a TikTok threat of shooting students and teachers at a school. The threat was generated from the Lakewood area in Shelby County. Investigators identified the suspect as Joseph Jenkins, who had prior arrests for making similar social media threats to shoot Shelby County Deputies. Authorities say he was arrested Sunday at his home in Lakewood, where Jenkins admitted to making the TikTok threat.
