
We are looking at heavy rains over the next several days and more severe storms will hit the area on Friday.
We will see rain and thunderstorms for today with a high of 63. Then, rain and thunderstorms tonight with a low of 48.
Meanwhile, more severe storms will strike the area on Friday. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says severe thunderstorms will be possible Friday afternoon and evening. The highest probability is across southeast Missouri and southwest and south-central Illinois. Currently the main threat appears to be large hail.
Meanwhile, flooding will be a major concern throughout the upcoming weekend. The NWS says several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will track across east-central and southeast Missouri and southern Illinois Thursday through Saturday. This prolonged period of heavy rain will likely cause flash flooding across portions of the area. Additionally, flooding will occur on small streams and creeks as well as along the Meramec, Kaskaskia, and Black Rivers.
