As Pres Trump aims to curb mail-in voting, some Illinois lawmakers look to expand the option

As the Trump Administration makes an effort to suppress mail-in voting, Illinois lawmakers continue to intervene with what some are calling unnecessary legislation.  State Representative Nabeela Syed has introduced a measure that establishes curbside voting during early voting and on Election Day.  She says during the November Election, some voting lines were too long for some people.

Brian Pollock from the Illinois Association of County Clerks and Recorders says the legislation may be a case of government overreach.

Another measure provides that the application for a vote by mail ballot for a single election include an option to apply for a permanent vote by mail status.  Both bills remain in committee.
