Severe thunderstorms will hit the area this afternoon and this evening.

Our weather forecast for today calls for rain and thunderstorms with a high of 72.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis says severe thunderstorms are expected in parts of eastern Missouri and southwest/south central Illinois this afternoon and early evening. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats. A few tornadoes are also possible. The threat will end from west to east through the afternoon as a cold front moves across the area.
