Farm group says avian flu should not have caused egg prices to skyrocket

For the past couple of months, egg prices have jumped in Illinois and around the country, but a midwestern farm organization is skeptical of the price hikes.  A dozen eggs were going for as much as $9 in the Chicago area.  Sarah Carden is with the group Farm Action.  She says consumers are outraged because eggs are an important part of the American breakfast table.

Carden also says the avian flu outbreak had a minimal impact on egg production.  Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told News Nation that she expects eggs prices to continue to drop.

The Trump Administration has announced that millions of eggs will be imported from South Korea and Turkey.
