We will get in some sunshine today, but rain is going to set in early Sunday morning over the area.
Today we are looking at sunny skies with a high of 57. Winds out of the northwest will gust better than 20 miles per hour for today. Early Sunday morning showers and possibly a thunderstorm will move into the area with a low tonight of 43 and winds from the south gusting better than 20 miles hour. Then, Sunday showers and possibly a thunderstorm will stay with us with a high of 62 and winds out of the west gusting about 30 miles per hour.
Meanwhile, there is a chance of an isolated severe storm tonight–although it looks like that chance will likely stay just to our west. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop over parts of the area tonight. The NWS says a few of these storms could produce quarter sized hail after midnight. Also, the NWS adds that 1″ to 2″ of rain is possible in a narrow corridor surrounding I-70 as storms train over the area–elsewhere up to 1/2″ of rain is forecast.
