
Selma Ann Goodin (Ann), 88 of Kirkwood, MO, formerly of Vandalia, IL, died at 3:45 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Manor Grove Nursing Home in Kirkwood, MO.
Services will be held at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 24, 2025 with Dr. Ward Sussenbach officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery, Rural Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or Doctors Without Borders. Ann was born June 4, 1936 in Fayette County, IL, the daughter of Dugan M. and Eunice O. (Murray) Tompkins. She was a retired trust officer from First Bank (formerly Farmers and Merchants Bank) in Vandalia. Prior to her banking career she worked as the secretary for the States’s Attorney. She married Lewis Eugene Goodin on July 1, 1956. He passed away on January 31, 2000. She was the mother of two children, the grandmother of six, and the great grandmother of one.
Ann loved to spend time with her grandsons and to bake cookies and other treats, especially at Christmas time.
Surviving are her daughter, Kristi Elizabeth Hickey of Kirkwood, MO; her sister, Shelby June Schmid of Decatur, IL; daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Goodin of Hot Springs, AR; grandsons, Nathan Hickey of Godfrey, IL, Jonathan Goodin of Little Rock, AR, Justin Hickey & Samantha of Maplewood, MO, Christopher Goodin of Hot Springs, AR, Will Goodin of Hot Springs, AR, and Thomas Hickey of New York, NY; and great grandson, Mason Hickey of Maplewood, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Gary E. Goodin.
