Billy Roger Carter, 90, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home in Ramsey, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL with Pastor Terry Sapp officiating. Burial will follow at Blankenship Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL with military rites. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at the funeral home. He was born September 14, 1934, in Macoupin County, IL, to Orville Daniel & Dorothy Faye (Jackson) Carter. Billy was a graduate of Ramsey High School. Following his high school graduation, he married Barbara Ann Lampitt on April 28, 1956 in Chicago, IL. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 in the 82nd Airborne. Billy was a union carpenter and built many area homes along with his father, farming, woodworking, and sawing logs on his own saw mill. He was also a retired molder from Crane packing.
He is survived by his Wife – Barbara Carter; Sons – David Carter, Gordon Carter & Gena, and Zachary Carter; Daughter – Jennifer Hunt & Scott, all of Ramsey, IL; Grandchildren – Adam Carter, Andy Carter & Courtney, Kamber Cox, Holly Hart & Michael, Tabitha Sampson & Aaron, Jenna Sefton & Matt, and Carter Hunt & Monica; Great Grandchildren – Kaylee Cox, Jacob Cox, Levi Lewey, Summer Sampson, Jaxson Sampson, Anna and Trey Hart, John Sefton, Rayna Carter, and Maxwell Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Daughter – Lucinda Dawn Clark; and Brother – Russell Allen Carter.
