
The Fayette County Courthouse and Jail held an open house for 4 hours on Wednesday to give the public a chance to see inside. And, those hosting the open house hope it opened some eyes to the issues they have been discussing and their belief that a new Courthouse and Jail is needed.
Fayette County Sheriff Ronnie Stevens says they were hoping to show the issues he says they are dealing with.
And, Sheriff Stevens says the current building doesn’t allow them to keep up with changing times.
Fayette County voters will be deciding in the April 1st Consolidated Election of whether or not to approve a 1% sales tax increase for 35 years to fund a new courthouse and and jail. We will talk more about that coming up tomorrow.
