Vandalia Police Officer honored by City for completing Tactical Patrol Officer Training

A Vandalia Police Officer was honored at Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting for completing Tactical Patrol Officer Training.

Officer Jake Etcheson was recognized at the start of Monday’s meeting.  Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray says the training involves a large group of classes in areas such as rapid deployment, urban tactics, tactical rifle, rescue task force, high traffic stops and more.  Chief Ray says the training is through to Illinois Tactical Officers Assocation and it started in northern Illinois and Officer Etcheson is among the first eight in downstate Illinois to receive the training.
