
Rebert “Dianne” Richards, 79, of Vandalia, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Per Dianne’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 17, 2025 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue. Rebert Dianne Chatham was born on December 08, 1945 in Fayette County, IL, the daughter of Edgar Ralph Chatham and Evelyn Elise (Hathaway) Chatham Talbott. Dianne graduated from Vandalia Community High School and furthered her education by attending Cosmetology School. She worked as a hair stylist for many years; owning and operating her own beauty salon in Vandalia. Later, Dianne and her family moved to Indianapolis where she was employed by various salons in the area. She eventually returned to Vandalia, where she was a former member of the Eagles Club. Dianne was a very quiet and solitary person; she loved to read, especially autobiographies, and had an avid love for any and all animals.
She will forever be remembered by her daughter, Alicia and husband Stacy McElroy of Foley, AL; daughter, Kelly and husband Bill Mock of Argonia, KS; brother, Dennis Chatham and wife Linda; sister, Darlene and husband Allen Caylor; three grandchildren, Alora McElroy, Amber Gelsinger, and Brennon Mock; and two great-grandsons, Sawyer Collins and Rowdy Collins.
Ms. Richards was preceded in death by her parents.
