Tanna Sue Brown, 72, of Vandalia, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at her home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Doug Wodkta officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, January 24, 2025 and one hour prior to services Saturday, at the funeral home. Tanna Sue Brown was born on July 30, 1952 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of David Jarret “Sadie” and Eileen May (Cross) Brown. She married Jerry Wall in 1970. They share one child together, Chris. She married Allen Otto in 1973. They share two children together, Mary Alice and Leslie. She spent the last 23 years reunited with Jerry Wall along with his other three children. Together they share six children.
In her younger years, Tanna waitressed at various restaurants in the area. She then started a career at Brockway, where she was employed for many years serving in various different capacities. Following its closure, she bartended at the Vandalia Moose Lodge and the 6th Street Pub. Tanna enjoyed dancing, sewing, embroidery, and playing games on her Kindle. She loved road trippin’ with Patty Graumenz and her special group of friends, known to each other as the “Golden Girls.” However, she cherished nothing more than the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She will forever be remembered by her partner, Jerry Wall of Vandalia; son, Chris Wall and Heather of Ramsey; daughter, Mary Alice Smith of Ramsey; son, Leslie Otto of Bingham; daughter, Angie and husband Jason Dunaway of Sevierville, TN; son, Jerry Wall and wife Brandy of Vandalia; daughter, Shayla and husband Brad Eyman of Vandalia; sister, Andrea Hudson of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Lynn Brown of Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Courtney, Amber, Samantha, Nathan, Kloey, Jesse, Keagan, Emma, Ford, Carly, and Caleb; great-grandson, Asher; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles David “Chuck” Brown; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Hudson.
