The Altamont Indians chased down the Hillsboro Hiltoppers and tied things up to end regulation, but then came up just short in a 67 to 63 overtime loss on the road on Friday night. Altamont was held to just four baskets from the floor, two of those and five points coming from Cooper McManaway, and a pair of free throws as they were outscored in the first quarter 16-12. Junior Kade Milleville would go on a big run himself in the second quarter to score 13 of the Indians 16 points in the quarter as Altamont had the 16-15 advantage in the quarter to close their deficit from four points to three points, trailing 31-28 at halftime. Hillsboro outscored Altamont 10-8 in the third quarter as the Hiltoppers lead would be edged out to five points, with the Indians down 36-31 to start the fourth quarter. Altamont would used a balanced scoring attack in the fourth quarter as they would drop 18 points in the quarter and held Hillsboro to 13 points to take the five point deficit away and tie things up at 54-54 to end regulation and send the game to overtime. A three pointer from Alex Walker and four points from Brayden Elam in overtime would keep the Indians in it, but Hillsboro would go 7 of 11 from the free throw line to close out the win and hand the Indians the 67-63 loss. Altamont drops to 4-8 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday when they are back at home to host a matchup with Marshall.
