Three I70Sports area teams will be back in action tonight to get the second half of the season underway.
St. Elmo-Brownstown will return to the court after almost two weeks off since finishing fourth place in their own holiday tournament. The Eagles are 6-6 on the season and will play host to the Okaw Valley Timberwolves who are coming off of a strong showing at the Vandalia Holiday Tournament. Okaw Valley went 4-1 in the tournament to take third place and are on a four game win streak. The Eagles and Timberwolves will tip-off at 6:15pm with JV action and Varsity to follow.
Vandalia will be back in action at home after just a three day break following the wrap up of their holiday tournament on Monday. The Vandals are 7-9 on the season and have won three of their four games and have been at home for the last three and a half weeks. North Clay is 9-3 on the season and has been off for almost two weeks, falling in their last game of 2024 that ended a six game win streak. The Vandals and Cardinals will get underway at 6:00pm with the JV game and Varsity to follow.
Altamont starts their second half of the season how they ended the first, on the road, as the Indians will be at Hillsboro tonight. Altamont is 4-7 on the season and coming off a fourth place finish at the Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament. After a 3-1 start to the season, the Indians have won just one of their last seven games and will look to turn the tide against the 8-7 Hiltoppers. Hillsboro has won four of its last five games and have had a week off after a fifth place finish in the Carlinville Holiday Tournament last week and a second place finish at the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament the week before. Game time tonight is set for 6:00p with JV and then Varsity to follow.
