Attorneys are expected to discuss jury instructions Thursday at the federal corruption trial of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan in Chicago.
Jurors last appeared in court on December 19th, when Madigan’s defense team began presenting its case. With the charge conference scheduled Thursday, the jury won’t return until next Monday.
St. Xavier University Professor David Parker says that much of the material presented by prosecutors was introduced in previous trials.

Madigan and codefendant Michael McClain are charged with 23 counts of bribery, racketeering and official misconduct in connection with a scheme prosecutors called, “The Madigan Enterprise.”
