(Decatur, IL) — An Illinois Appellate Court is delaying the pre-trial release of the former Sangamon County deputy charged in the killing of Sonya Massey. The court agreed yesterday to delay Sean Grayson’s release in order to give the state time to ask the Illinois Supreme Court for further action. The move comes after the court ruled last week that the state didn’t provide enough evidence to keep Grayson in jail until his trial. The Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office appealed the ruling. A hearing that was scheduled for Friday to determine the conditions of Grayson’s release has been moved to January 2nd.
