Former Chicago alderman Daniel Solis has started testifying at the corruption trial of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.
Solis said he secretly cooperated with the government for about two-and-a-half years and still faces a pending bribery charge.
FBI Special Agent Ryan McDonald testified that Solis’ cover was blown when news of his cooperation with the government leaked to the press.
Former Madigan campaign worker Ed Moody finished his testimony Thursday morning.
Prosecutors played a wiretapped conversation of Moody asking codefendant Michael McClain if there was a new subcontractor who might be paying him.
Moody was working in Cook County government while doing campaign work for Madigan and getting paid by a ComEd contractor.
