City of Vandalia will see 4 contested races in April 1st Election

The City of Vandalia will have 4 contested races in the April 1^st Consolidated Election.

The filing period ended at the end of business on Monday and there will be contested races for Mayor and in 3 Alderman’s seats in Vandalia.

For City Clerk, Carla Huhn will run unopposed for a second term.

For Mayor, Doug Knebel and Bobby Pate, Junior will run against each other to decide who will be the new Mayor of Vandalia. Current Mayor Rick Gottman earlier announced he would not be seeking a 7^th term.

In Ward 1, Alderman Steve Barker will run unopposed for another term.

In Ward 2, Alderman Kenny Lewey will run for re-election and he is challenged by Amber Daulbaugh.

In Ward 3, Alderman Mike Hobler will run for re-election and he is challenged by Charles “Chuck” Fitch.

And, in Ward 4, Alderman Andy Lester will run for re-election and he is challenged by Jeremy Curll.
