(Chicago, IL) — Jurors in Michael Madigan’s racketeering trial are getting a chance to see a list of people believed to have been allies of the former Illinois House Speaker. Prosecutors say Michael McClain’s “magic list” includes names of people who went on to have lucrative lobbying careers. They believe the list provides proof that McClain was secretly helping a group of former Madigan staffers, associates and allies get business and that the former speaker was aware of it. Madigan and McClain face charges accusing them of conspiring to participate in an array of bribery and extortion schemes.
