South Central High School grad Spencer Patton and Team USA will begin play in the World Baseball Softball Confederation’s Premier-12 Global Baseball Battle on Saturday. Patton is one of 15 pitchers and 28 players overall on the Team USA roster. The team will be in Group A along with Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico and Venezuela and will compete in Guadalajara and Tepic, Mexico for their five Group A games from November 9-14. Their first game will be Saturday evening at 5:00pm CT against Puerto Rico at Santa Teresita Stadium in Tepic, Mexico. They will then take on Netherlands on Sunday at 5:00pm CT, Venezuela on Monday at 8:00pm CT and Panama on Tuesday at 8:00pm CT also all at Santa Teresita Stadium. After an off day on Wednesday, they will wrap up Group A play on Thursday against Mexico at 7:00pm CT at Estadio Panamerico in Guadalajara, Mexico. If they are one of the top 2 finishers in Group A, they will then go to Tokyo, Japan from November 21-24 to compete in the Super Round along with the top 2 finishers from Group B.
