A former ComEd executive has described inside deals between the utility company and Michael Madigan’s allies at the former Illinois House Speaker’s corruption trial.
Fidel Marquez was convicted of bribery in 2020 and agreed to wiretap conversations as he cooperated with government investigators. Marquez explained payments from ComEd to lobbying companies to Madigan allies for do-nothing jobs.
In a wiretapped conversation from June 19, 2018, Madigan told co-defendant Michael McClain about a jet used by then-ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore.
Marquez is expected to offer more testimony on Thursday.
